It actually started at my daughter’s local ice rink. The facility needed some serious TLC, and I thought it would be fun to host a video game tournament to help raise money and support the rink. I built a website, organized the event, and waited for people to show up.

Nobody came.

The tournament failed, but the website didn’t disappear.

A while later, I bought a sim racing rig and picked up NASCAR 25. Like a lot of people, I figured I’d jump online and find a league to race with. What I found was a community full of passionate racers, but no easy way to connect with them.

Finding a league felt harder than it should have been.

If someone wants to join a softball league, they go to their local park district or recreation center and find one. Sim racing doesn’t work that way. There are incredible leagues, communities, commissioners, broadcasters, and organizers out there, but they’re scattered across Discord servers, Facebook groups, Reddit posts, and word of mouth. Unless you already know where to look, it’s easy to miss them.

That problem started to bother me.

What began as a simple search for a place to race turned into an obsession with finding a better solution. I already had the foundation of a website sitting there from the failed tournament, so I started building.

​

My goal isn’t to create another league. My goal is to create a home for the leagues that already exist. A place where drivers can discover communities, commissioners can recruit quality racers, and newcomers can find clean, competitive racing without spending weeks searching for it.

​

I also want this to be a place for the next generation. I have kids of my own, and I’d love for them to learn racing, sportsmanship, competition, and community through sim racing the same way other kids learn through traditional sports.

​

Most importantly, I believe sim racing makes motorsports accessible. Not everyone can spend thousands of dollars on a race car, trailer, travel, and track fees. Sim racing gives people a way to experience the thrill of competition, learn racecraft, build friendships, and be part of something bigger regardless of their budget.

Next Gen Racing League isn’t about charging users. It’s about building a platform that creates value for the community. I want to partner with sponsors, instructors, youth organizations, event hosts, and people who genuinely want to grow the hobby and make it more accessible.

​

If we do this right, someone looking for their first race, their first league, or their first racing community won’t have to search nearly as hard as I did.
